The design on this
bedspread dates back to
the mid ninteenth century,
when Leon Arnoux,
Mintons Art director,
decided to revive the
decorative styles and
techniques of the
renaissance. Mintons were
painted in raised white
enamel on a bone china
body.

Desire LeRoy came to
Minton in 1874. His
mastery of painting in a
one colour medium.
adding depth and
definition, humour and
expression was second to
none. It was the painting
of Leroy's birds which
insired this design.
