Van Gogh's oil painting
"Twelve Sunflowers in a
Vase" was painted at Arles
in August 1888 and is now
in a Munich museum. The
sunflowers are probably
the best loved of Van
Gogh?s work. Although he
painted many throughout
his life, it is this series,
which he painted to please
Paul Gaugin that are most
evocative of his work.
